Have you ever heard of the Pennies for Peace campaign? If not, Pennies for Peace was founded by Greg Mortenson, who is also the founder of the Central Asia Institute and author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, Three Cups of Tea. The campaign helps poor children in Pakistan and Afghanistan by building schools and providing school supplies. Pennies for Peace works quite simply.
1. Donate your bennies? Other forms of money are acceptable.
2. We will take the donations to our local bank.
3. Bank staff will count our donations with a coin machine.
4. The banker will write a check and send it to pennies for peace! Pennies for peace will make sure your money goes where it needs to go.
Donations will be taken from May 17th – May 21st. Just look for the Pennies for Peace jugs in the cafeteria and the Main office. The Central Asia Institute has been providing educations for Pakistani and Afghan children since 1993. We hope to see you contribute.
