Ephrata High School and Mainstream of Ephrata Work Together to Help Students Obtain Jobs and Internships
Ephrata High School and Mainstream of Ephrata held their annual Job Fair for EHS students on Tuesday, March 12. Over 250 students in grade 11 met with representatives from 15 area businesses who were interested in providing employment, internship, and/or volunteer opportunities for EHS students.
Held in the Ephrata High School gymnasium, the event gave the students the opportunity to visit many exhibits and learn about a variety of vacancies from Dairy Queen, Fox Meadows Creamery, Ephrata Rec Center pool, Abel Construction, Cloister Flooring technicians to seasonal staff opportunities at Hersheypark and Dutch Wonderland. Additionally, there was interest in internship and volunteer opportunities at the Northern Lancaster County HUB and the Ephrata area volunteer fire companies.
Students were engaged and eager about taking the first step to becoming employed. Many students were even filling out applications and arranging interview appointments at the event. “It is our hope this event will benefit our students not only with employment or internship credits but by providing an opportunity to enhance students’ skills for their careers after high school,” said Kerri Batdorf, EHS counselor.
