Ephrata AM 12-10-20

Good Morning Ephrata NAMES today is Thursday December 10. Please rise for a moment of silence and the pledge to the flag.

Not sure what to get your little sister for the holidays? Want to make sure you have a book to read that isn’t on a screen? Think Dad would like a new cookbook?

You’re in luck! Remember how exciting book fairs were in elementary school? Look no further for the COVID-friendly option in 2020. Local bookstore, Aaron’s Books in Lititz, is hosting a virtual book fair for EHS!

You can go to the store and show the flyer, print or on your phone (check @mountsmediacenter on Instagram, Schoology or see a library staff member) OR order online and use the code EHS20 when you check out. You can opt to pay a small fee to have it shipped to your house OR select free school delivery and your purchases will be delivered in school before Christmas break.

Be on the lookout for staff recommendations!

Happy reading!

This is an announcement that the Gay-Straight Alliance will be restarting this Friday under new leadership. The club meeting will be in room 112 until 3:30. This club is open to everyone and we hope to see you there

And now over to ____________ with the news

In today’s news, which isn’t about covid, a Humpback whale has been spotted right in front of the statue of liberty. The Atlantic coast waters is migration territory for such animals and more than a dozen have been spotted in recent years. Bjoern Kils spotted the whale and said that he regularly sees marine life, however it is rare for a whale to come in from the ocean. The last one he personally spotted was in 2016. The whale most likely came into Ellis island because the harbor becomes full of menhaden which is a fish that humpback whales feed on.

Now to the juniors with the lunch

There are no sports today.

Now back to the main desk
