Bio boot camp will be held in the cafeteria next week from 2:45 to 3:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All biology students are welcome to attend. You will need your laptop for each session.

Thousands of people are being evacuated from villages along India’s eastern coastline ahead of a severe cyclone. Cyclone Fani is heading towards the state of Orissa with wind speeds in excess of 127 mph, and is expected to make landfall on Friday. Officials have now shut down operations at two major ports on the east coast, and thousands of rescuers are helping people evacuate from low-lying areas. Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu states are also on high alert.

A US cruise ship has been placed in quarantine by the Caribbean island of St Lucia after a case of measles was reported on board, the island’s chief medical officer said. Dr Merlene Fredericks James said there was a confirmed case of measles on board and “thought it prudent that we quarantine the ship”. No-one aboard was allowed to leave. The ship is reportedly the Freewinds, which is said to be owned and operated by the Church of Scientology.

Chase Wilson has qualified to represent Ephrata at the PIAA District 3 Boys Tennis 3A Singles Championships on Friday, May 3 at Hershey Racquet Club.  Congrats!  Chase will play Max Kluger from Cumberland Valley in the 1st round of tournament play.  Good luck!
