From Our Principals

Dr. Peter Kispaugh

Dr. Kishpaugh joined EASD in July 2014 as an Assistant Principal at Ephrata High School. Prior to coming to the District, Dr. Kishpaugh spent six years at Altoona Area High School teaching Physics and coaching football and track. He received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Educational Leadership and Principal Certification from Saint Francis University. He received his Doctorate degree from Immaculata University.

Russ Garman

Mr. Russ Garman joined EASD in August 1993, working as both an Ephrata Middle School and Ephrata High School social studies teacher and instructional facilitator. In 2009, he became the Assistant Principal at Ephrata Middle School. Mr. Garman earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and German at Millersville University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision and his Principal Certification from Penn State Great Valley.

Matthew Schuck

Mr. Matthew Schuck was appointed an EMS Assistant Principal in July 2024, previously serving as an EASD Student Engagement Facilitator. Before becoming a Mountaineer, he was an emotional support teacher in the Penn Manor School District. Mr. Schuck earned Bachelor and Master Degrees from Millersville University, including certifications in K-12 Administration, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education. Additionally, he obtained a Social-Emotional Learning Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.
