STEM Summit

Ephrata High School hosted its annual Junior Achievement STEM Summit for students in ninth grade on Friday, September 22.  Learning stations lead by local STEM professionals provided a variety of collaborative and hand-on experiences.

Students explored concepts and participated in real-world applications with math competitions, chemistry and physics experiments, electrical engineering challenges, and much more. They also learned about the growing number of STEM-related career opportunities.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, STEM jobs are projected to grow twice as quickly as other careers.  Additionally, students today will be entering a workforce where many of the available jobs and associated responsibilities did not previously exist.  Ephrata Area School District aims to prepare students for these opportunities through experiences like the STEM Summit.
