Congrats to our recent Substitutes of the Month: Leona Miller (pictured here with Food Service Director Teri Gamez) and Lori Lehman. These valued substitutes help across all schools in both food service and in classrooms. We are so grateful for their support!

How fun! These Mountaineers toured the Eastland Alpaca farm yesterday and learned all about these amazing creatures!

Highland second-graders recently created advertisements for Bank of Bird-in-Hand. They were thrilled when bank representatives visited to thank them in person! We greatly value these community connections and the authentic #EASDLifeReady connections they provide for our learners!

The results are in! Out of 3700 students participating in the Pennsylvania K’nex Challenge, our Pink Planters team took third place in the state! Congrats to Mountaineers Anthony, Audrey, Josh, and Lucinda!

Congratulations to Zach and Lance for representing Ephrata at the PIAA D3 boys singles Tennis tournament at Hershey Racquet Club this weekend. Zach advanced to the semi-finals, earned 4th place medal and qualified to play in the PIAA State Tournament, May 24-25 at Hershey. Go Mounts!

On National School Lunch Hero Day, we are thanking our amazing food service staff for all they do! School lunches sure aren’t what they used to be… In fact, today EHS students sampled tamales, pepper jack pretzel bites, and mini chocolate lava cakes!

The Cloister FFA is proud to announce the results of their spring regional Career Development Event (CDE) which was held on Tuesday, April 16. A group of Ephrata High School students competed among students from other FFA chapters in Schuylkill, Lebanon, Berks, Chester, and Philadelphia counties in a variety of agricultural topics. Celebrating Public Education: Highland Elementary School Kindergarteners showed all they've learned and created as part of their year-long Cornerstone which is focused on the question, "Why are animals important in our community?"

Tonight's School Board Resolutions included state swimming and national quiz bowl student achievements. Mrs. Lori Long was also publicly recognized for being named the local, regional, and state VFW Teacher of the Year. #MountsPride

EHS recently hosted 21 Cocalico High School students for a friendly day of activities, including Spanish trivia and a language competition. Gracias, Aguilas!

Our incoming Kindergartners are having a blast at our school "Kindergarten, Here I Come" events!

The Ephrata Area School District recently received a donation - over $3,500 - from the GIANT Company to be used within the Food Services Department. Through the Feeding School Kids initiative, the GIANT Company and its customers raised money to address the issue of childhood hunger throughout local public school districts in the communities they serve. Customers at GIANT stores were invited to round up their grocery purchases to the nearest dollar or convert their “choice” points into a donation for their local public schools’ food programs. “We are grateful for this donation. It will aid in ensuring that all students in the District have adequate access to meals, helping students to reach their full potential,” stated District Food Service Director Teri Gamez.
