Lancaster School of Cosmetology & Therapeutic Bodywork
Students planning to utilize financial aid
For students who are planning to utilize financial aid to attend the Cosmetology program, there are several scenarios based on state, federal and accreditation law and regulation.
Option A
If a student has completed all graduation requirements by December of their senior year, they could begin the Cosmetology program in January of their senior year and utilize financial aid. The school would need to produce a letter stating the student has completed all requirements needed for graduation. This document is acceptable to show high school completion and the student may apply for financial aid. (If the student has this document, they are not counted as part of the 10% of high school students permitted to attend.)
Option B
If a student has completed all graduation requirements by January or February of their senior year, they could begin the Cosmetology program in March of their senior year and utilize financial aid. The school would need to produce a letter stating the student has completed all requirements needed for graduation. This document is acceptable to show high school completion and the student may apply for financial aid. (If the student has this document, they are not counted as part of the 10% of high school students permitted to attend.)
Option C
If a student has not completed all graduation requirements by December (or some other point) of their senior year, but the high school will count attendance in the Cosmetology program as high school credit for completion, the student could begin in January, March or April of their senior year. (As the Cosmetology program is a clock hour awarded program and not a credit hour awarded program, the high school would determine how many credits they would apply toward high school completion based on possible hours completed. However, financial aid will have to be delayed until the student has completed all requirements for high school completion. The student will be permitted to start school but would have a monthly payment until financial aid could be processed at the time of high school completion. That monthly payment amount varies based on the individual student. Should the student withdraw prior to financial aid processing and disbursement, the student would be responsible for all monies owed at the time of withdrawal based on the school’s approved refund policy.
In all instances described for early admission, students will receive a $1,000 early admission scholarship from Lancaster School of Cosmetology & Therapeutic Bodywork.
